The suspect and her vehicle were later found at a Days Inn in Amherst.
An indictment has been filed against Lynda Wright, 53, of Grafton, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred earlier this year, as per records from Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
The court records, which are dated May 2, show the indictment includes the following counts:
- Failure to stop after an accident
- Tampering with evidence
- Vehicular homicide
The incident took place on Feb. 8 in the 1400 block of Cooper Foster Park Road in Lorain, where a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
Police say he died at the scene.
Following a thorough examination of evidence at the scene, it was determined that the vehicle involved in the crash was a white Subaru Legacy, according to a press release issued by the Lorain Police Department after the February incident. With the help of the Amherst Police Department, a potential suspect vehicle was identified.
The vehicle and suspect were found at the Days Inn in the 900 block of N. Leavitt Road in Amherst, according to police.
“The damage to the vehicle was consistent with the evidence collected at the scene,” police said in their release.
When Wright was arrested, police initially reported that she was taken into custody for felony failure to stop after an accident.
