In Colorado City, CO, a woman is now facing multiple charges related to the death of her mother. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office reported that the woman’s mother, Lavonne Hoff, tragically passed away after being attacked by her daughter’s dogs.
An investigation revealed that Lavonne Hoff, aged 76, had died due to a dog attack. Her body was discovered by deputies on February 3 inside the home of her daughter, Jessica Hoff, aged 47.
During the incident, it was noted that numerous dogs were roaming freely inside the house. Additionally, there were around 24 other dogs present, as well as seven caged birds, at the time of the attack.
It says the victim was left in the home alone with the dogs even though she had dementia and required 24-hour care.
Jessica Hoff is facing one count of criminal negligence resulting in the death of an at-risk adult, and 54 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, a total of 54 dogs were found on the property along Jefferson Boulevard.
Hoff is in custody at the Pueblo County Jail.
