Child, 2, dies two days after being run over by ‘Islamist terrorist’ who ploughed Mini into crowd injuring 36 in Munich

A CHILD has tragically died from serious injuries after a suspected Islamist terrorist rammed his Mini Cooper into a crowd in Munich.

The two-year-old child was among the 36 injured in the “shocking attack” said to be carried out by an Afghan asylum seeker.

Members of the emergengy services work at the scene where a car drove into a crowd in the southern German city of Munich on February 13, 2025 leaving several people injured, police said. Reports indicate that the Mini Cooper accelerated and crashed into a group of about 1,500 Verdi demonstrators, a Berlin-based German trade union, on Seidlstrasse in Munich. The incident occurred on Thursday.

The alleged attack occurred just before the Munich Security Conference that kicked off on Friday, with the arrival of US Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky scheduled to speak.

Authorities have revealed that the suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker who, according to the region’s interior minister, was already known to the police due to previous involvement in drug and theft cases.

News website Spiegel says the suspect is a Kabul-born man named Farhad N.

He is said to have posted Islamist content on social media before the heinous incident.

Farhad N arrived in Germany as an asylum seeker in December 2016 and had his asylum application rejected.

Unconfirmed reports from eyewitnesses in the horror incident claim there were two men involved in the crowd plough, with one of them shot by police and carried away, according to BR24.

Munich cops have repeated that the driver was arrested but said they’re unable to confirm reports that another person was involved.

Emotional pictures show shoes, umbrellas and bags discarded on the floor after victims presumably ran for their lives.

Other harrowing image shows a collapsed pram on the ground.

One eyewitness on the scene said the Mini hit a woman and child, explaining that they were “apparently lying under the car”.

A demonstrator told Bayerischer Rundfunk: “I was in the demonstration and saw that a man was lying under the car.

“Then I tried to open the door, but it was locked.”

They claimed police shot at the car window.

The front of the Mini also looks to have been completely smashed in – suggesting the driver was travelling at speed before ploughing into demonstrators.
