A British individual, aged 20, met a tragic end while climbing in Spain on a route famously called ‘The Monkey Bridge’.
Engaging in a perilous hike on the via ferrata, situated approximately 70km away from Malaga, the man had a fatal fall.
The incident occurred around 11 am on Wednesday as he was progressing near the Puente del Mono, also known as the Monkey Bridge, during his climb.
The man was knocked unconscious with his companions alerting emergency services, news site Sur reports.
The Guardia Civil sent mountain rescue workers with a helicopter to the scene.
But on arrival, they found the man had died and paramedics could not revive him.
The bridge is found on the walkway Caminito Del Rey – a famous path known as one of the world’s scariest hikes.
The walkways are built around steep cliffs and high wire exercises that attract thrill seekers from around the world.
The climber’s death comes after a British influencer died after plunging 160ft from one of Spain’s highest bridges for a social media stunt.
He was said to have climbed 40 to 50 metres up the bridge Puente de Castilla-La Mancha without ropes or a harness when he fell.
