Well done to everyone who took part in the Great North Run! Here are some of our favourite photographs from the iconic half-marathon
Around 60,000 runners took part in the Great North Run as the North East said a fond farewell to Sir Mo Farah who was taking part in his last ever professional race.
Mo crossed the finish line in fourth place behind winner Tamirat Tola, second placed Bashir Abdi and Muktar Edris in third. But it was Sir Mo, who got the loudest cheer as he approached the finish line in South Shields.
We’ve picked out some of our favourite photographs from an emotional day on Tyneside, with many runners from Yorkshire making the trip North to take part in the iconic road race.
Well done to everyone who took part – you are all amazing!
