AN INFLUENCER has been arrested at an airport after shooting a firework through a child’s bedroom window on New Year’s Eve.
Atallah Younes, 23, was detained at Berlin’s Willy Brandt on Saturday as he tried to flee the city following the shocking act.
The arrest comes after the video blew up in Germany – with Younes then claiming he was the victim of racist attacks.
The Palestinian has some 300,000 followers on Instagram and regularly posted his trip – which he appeared to enjoy.
But on New Year’s Eve Younes, from Nablus in the West Bank, posted a video of himself shooting a firework through a bedroom window.
A video that garnered 10,000,000 views before Younes took it down depicted the influencer igniting a firework and directing it towards an apartment building in the suburb of Berlin-Neukölln.
The rocket flies through a dark window on the third floor before the room lights up in yellow and orange.
That window belonged to a child’s room – with the cracker exploding inside in a bright orange and red blast and the room then catching fire.
Luckily, there was no kid in the room at the time of the explosion.
In a subsequent video, Younes visited the apartment and expressed his apologies to the homeowner, clarifying that he was unaware of how the rocket would behave and that it was never his intention for such an incident to occur.
But in subsequent clips after the incident reached the German press, Younes claimed Germany was against him.
He pleaded with Germans and German Arabs to be on his side when they were leaving comments telling him to get out of the country.
Bizarrely, Younes claimed he was also the victim of racism.
He told Zeit: “What do the police want from me? Do they think I’m a refugee?”
Berlin cops confirmed it was conducting “investigations on suspicion of attempted serious arson.”
Younes tried to fly to Amman, Jordan, on Saturday but was arrested in front of a reporter quizzing him.
As he was at Willy Brandt’s baggage drop area, Younes told a Bild reporter: “I just wanted to celebrate. I didn’t know it was so dangerous.
“I went to sleep and the next day I saw that the video had 10 million views.”
Cops armed with semi-automatic rifles then showed up at the airport and arrested Younes.
Younes and a pal were then taken to a police station with the influencer missing his flight home.
He is being held on “suspected of serious arson on New Year’s Eve”.
A judge will examine whether he is formally arrested on Sunday.
It comes after a plus-sized influencer reveals she makes £15k a month in dancing videos despite trolls calling her a “whale”.
Jade Adams has responded to ”body shaming” meanies after finding herself at the centre of an online controversy on Instagram earlier this week.
The young content creator was shocked to discover a video of herself dancing had been posted on the popular Influencers In The Wild page without her consent.
