An investigation is underway in Ohio after a 5-year-old boy was allegedly left in a hot car on Thursday.
WBNS reported that Mansfield police officers were called to a scene where a child was found unresponsive in a car. When the first responders arrived, they discovered the boy being held by his mother. He was rushed to the hospital but was tragically declared dead.
It is not yet known for certain how long the child had been inside the vehicle, but authorities suspect that it may have been for several hours. The case is currently being looked into by law enforcement, as stated by WLWT.
If confirmed, Thursday’s incident is the ninth hot-car death this year. According to No Heat Stroke, 39 children died in hot cars in 2024.
