Boy, 6, killed in ‘exorcism’ with body found wrapped in cloth as mom ‘insists God told her to force demons out of him’

A SICK mom accused of murdering her 6-year-old son said God was ordering her to “exorcise” his demons after she was arrested.

Little Ra’myl Pierre was found dead and wrapped in cloth inside his mom’s house after he disappeared from school for two weeks.

Deputies visited the home last Friday and were greeted by his mom, 31-year-old Rhonda Paulynice.

She took cops to her little boy’s bedroom, and they discovered his body wrapped in cloth with only his face exposed.

Investigators believe he died on May 18 and that only his mother had been inside the room.

According to a document reviewed by Treasure Coast News, Paulynice admitted to authorities that she placed her hand over her young son’s mouth and began to suffocate him while he thrashed and screamed in bed.

She thought if she kept restraining him, the “demons” would go away and he would come back to life, police said.

The mom repeatedly went into her son’s room and blew warm air on his face, looking for signs of life, according to the affidavit.

She was aware Ra’Myl Pierre had died but believed she “freed him of a spirit he had in him,” her arrest records showed.

On May 30, deputies from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office went to Paulynice’s residence in Fort Pierce for a welfare inspection.

This was due to a request by a school resource deputy after the child was absent from school since May 14.

Paulynice told one deputy “she just hasn’t ‘put him back in school,’” according to the affidavit.

WRAPPED IN CLOTH

Paulynice allegedly later told investigators she was not in control of her “vessel” – referring to her body.

She claimed that “God/Father” had told her what to do.

“Paulynice stated she would be kept awake at night by dreams from God/Father detailing events which were going to occur,” added the affidavit.

She reported noticing changes in her boy’s behavior “and believed him to be controlled by a ‘spirit’ and by an ‘enemy.’”

She allegedly told detectives he died while she was trying to “exorcise demons out of her son’s body.”

Sheriff Richard Del Toro of St. Lucie County revealed that during their interaction with the mother, she disclosed that she believed she was instructed by God to expel demons from her child’s body.

“When the child had stopped moving and basically passed away, at that point, she felt the child had been released of those demons and was waiting for him to basically come back at that time.”

Paulynice “acknowledged that she knew he had died, and she freed him of a spirit he had in him,” per the affidavit.

“Paulynice made references to ‘resetting her life’ and she stated she was put in a position where she had to ‘take her son’s life.’”

Although she appeared distraught, it did not appear sincere.

Arrest records

The report added the mom then moved Ra’myl’s body to another bed and covered him in his favorite blanket, wrapping it around his head.

Paulynice told cops she checked on her dead son daily.

Investigators wrote in their court report that she appeared “indifferent to her son’s death, the role she played in his death or her actions of not reporting his death.”

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Ra’Myl Pierre during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Del Toro.

“We remain committed to uncovering the full truth about what happened.

“While the autopsy did not contradict the mother’s account, we are awaiting toxicology results and continuing a thorough investigation. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”

What has Rhonda Paulynice been charged with?

Rhonda Paulynice, 41, has been charged with second-degree murder.

The mom was also charged with failure to report a death and willfully touching or moving the body, clothing or any article upon or near the body, according to jail records.

She was booked into jail on May 30, and is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.

She was also reported as acting in an “odd” manner, for example not removing her sunglasses inside the home while speaking with cops.

“While she was in the residence, although she appeared distraught, it did not appear sincere,” her arrest records state.

This kid just lit the room up, and was loved by everybody.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Richard Del Toro

The mom went through “a lot of highs and lows during the investigation, from laughing at different times at the scene to crying,” Del Toro told reporters.

Body camera footage revealed the moments before cops found Ra’myl’s body.

Paulynice was filmed using lip gloss while answering deputies’ questions about her son’s lengthy absence from school, ABC affiliate WPTV reported.

In the clip, she told a deputy, “He’s going to go back to school. I’ll give them a call.

“I didn’t even realize that. I’ll call his teacher.”

Del Toro said, “From what I understand, this kid just lit the room up, and was loved by everybody.”

SCHOOL TRIBUTE

A spokesperson for the St. Lucie County school district said students and staff will be offered grief counseling and support services.

“Our hearts are with the student’s family, friends, classmates, and all who loved and cared for him during this incredibly difficult time,” St. Lucie Public Schools said in a statement.

“Out of respect for the family’s privacy, and the ongoing investigation, we will not be releasing any further information at this time.”

Paulynice remains in custody after being booked into jail on a second-degree murder charge on May 30.
