Police in Maine are continuing their search for a 12-year-old girl who hasn’t been seen since last year.
Dateline reports that Stefanie Damron has been missing from her residence in New Sweden, Maine, since September 23rd. On that day, her mother, Lisa Damron, went out to complete job application paperwork while leaving four of her six children, including Stefanie, in the care of their grandfather at home.
Lisa Damron shared with Dateline, “It feels like an endless nightmare that you hope to wake up from, but it just continues. I simply want to find out where my child is. All I want is to have my child back home.”
The Maine State Police (MSP) mentioned that Stefanie was last spotted departing her residence and moving towards the woods along West Road in New Sweden, following a disagreement with her sister.
“Before we left and stuff, she came up to me — was giving me love — and hugged me and told me she loved me and kissed me on the cheek,” Lisa said- “I kissed her back and told her I love her and, ‘I’ll be back.’”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the Maine Warden Service and state police K-9 Unit have previously searched swaths of land near where Damron disappeared.
The FBI is also helping to search, and currently offering a $15,000 reward “for information leading to the safe return of Stefanie Damron and/or information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
Stephanie is described as standing 5 feet tall, weighing 130 pounds, with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeve blue shirt, and black Harley Davidson hiking boots.
