Conor McGregor is facing accusations of attempting to sexually assault a woman in a VIP restroom while security guards prevented her friend from coming to her aid.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday and alleges the UFC fighter sexually assaulted a woman at the Kasaya Center in 2023.
The alleged attack took place after Miami Heat’s NBA Finals game against the Denver Nuggets on June 9.
It comes after the woman, who has been described as a 49-year-old who works on Wall Street, filed a criminal sexual assault allegation.
A report was made to City of Miami Police, but criminal charges were dropped, according to the Florida State Attorney’s Office.
Barbara Llanes, McGregor’s attorney, released a statement to ESPN after the civil lawsuit was filed.
It read: “After a thorough investigation at the time, the State’s Attorney concluded that there was no case to pursue.
“Almost two years and at least three lawyers later the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case too will be dismissed.”
McGregor has denied the allegations.
The woman alleged McGregor’s security team stopped her friend from entering a stall to help her.
She claimed the Irishman took her to a VIP men’s bathroom before launching his alleged attack.
The woman alleged that the MMA fighter, who appeared to be under the influence, tried to coerce her into performing oral sex without her consent.
She claimed she was thrown “against the wall face first”, put in “an arm lock” and spit on when she tried to leave.
It comes after McGregor insisted last year he will appeal another civil court jury’s verdict that he did assault a woman in a Dublin hotel room.
Nikita Hand accused the Irish mixed martial arts fighter of “brutally raping and battering” her after a Christmas night out in December 2018.
Accompanied by his partner Dee Devlin, McGregor maintained that he had engaged in consensual sexual activity with the woman at the Beacon Hotel.
On November 22 a jury in the civil case against McGregor decided he did assault Ms Hand.
He was ordered to pay her nearly 250,000 euros (£207k).
