NEW YORK (WABC) — An AccuWeather Alert is in effect for heavy rain and thunderstorms into Tuesday.
Heavy downpours and embedded thunderstorms are expected overnight with flooding in poor drainage and low-lying areas.
A flood watch has been issued for the Tri-State area with 1-3″ of rain and locally heavier amounts expected.
Meteorologist Lee Goldberg says severe storm risk is higher south I-78 but some isolated ones are possible in the immediate Tri-State area.
Expect some breaks of sun on Tuesday with another shower or thunderstorm around in the afternoon/evening.
