Actress from Married With Children passes away at 58 without warning

Actress Cindyana Santangelo, who played the exotic dancer Sierra Madre on Married… With Children, has died at age 58.

The star was taken to the hospital on Monday afternoon following a medical emergency at her residence in Malibu, as reported by TMZ.

The actress was pronounced dead, although her cause of death is still unclear.

LASD’s Homicide Division is investigating her passing after it was discovered that she had undergone ‘cosmetic shots’ at home, according to the outlet.

While there is no foul play suspected, they are currently awaiting the autopsy results.

She is most famous for her portrayal in Married… With Children as one of the dancers at a strip club named The Jiggly Room, a venue frequently visited by the show’s lead character Al Bundy and his companions.

Cindyana featured on the 1996 episode The Agony And The Extra C, playing stripper Sierra Madre, who sends the men at The Jiggly Room wild by showing them the birthday present she gave her boyfriend – a tattoo of his name on an intimate part of her body.

Bowled over by her romantic gesture, Jefferson (Ted McGinley) tries to get a tattoo on his backside in honor of his wife Marcy (Amanda Bearse), with disastrous results.

Cindyana was also known for her appearance in Hollywood Homicide – which starred Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett.

Her nickname ‘the Latin Marilyn Monroe’ originated by Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, who called her that in an interview with Spin Magazine. 

Cindyana also starred in a number of music videos, including Young MC’s Bust A Move, which was released in 1989. 

In 1990, her voice was featured in the beginning of Jane’s Addiction’s song Stop.

First responders answered a call for a medical emergency at her home in Malibu, with the star rushed to the hospital on Monday afternoon, according to TMZ

She also appeared in CSI: Miami, ER and The Bo-Bo & Skippy Show.

Cindyana was born in Manhattan, New York City, and was raised on the West Coast. 

She got a scholarship for the Lee Strasberg School in London at age 19, per iMDB. 

Cindyana also attended NUC’s Tisch School of Arts and USC’s School of Cinema and Television.
