OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Today’s Trooper Steve on Patrol live stream brings me back to my roots — right here in my home county of Osceola.

If you’ve been scrolling local social media lately, you may have seen a few heated posts (OK, maybe more than a few) about drivers doing their own thing along Partin Settlement Road and Simmons Road. We’re talking about folks making their own lanes, cutting across traffic and, well, creating a little chaos.

Now, if you don’t live around here, you’ve probably never had a reason to drive through this intersection. For a long time, this part of Osceola was about as quiet and rural as you could get. A few homes, wide open spaces, and not much else. But over the past several years, the secret got out — and so did the builders. Neighborhoods started popping up. Commercial centers followed. And with all that growth, of course, came the inevitable: road construction.

And if you’ve been through this area lately, you know it’s not exactly a smooth ride. Even before the complaint came in, I had driven through Partin Settlement and Simmons plenty of times and yes — it can absolutely get frustrating.

So today, with your concerns in mind, we’re taking the cameras out to see firsthand just how much has changed. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.

If you’re a longtime resident missing the old days or a newcomer wondering if the traffic will ever make sense, you’re not alone. Growth isn’t always easy — but understanding what’s happening can definitely make the ride feel a little smoother. Join us for the drive!
