The Chase star Anne Hegerty has opened up about the support her fellow quizzers offer each other.
The 65-year-old TV star, dubbed the Governess, has been on ITV The Chase since 2010. She said her fellow Chasers have a close bond.
Anne has revealed she’s in a WhatsApp group with Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Shaun Wallace, Darragh Ennis. She said the quizzers offer support to each particularly when they going through rare losing streaks on The Chase.
Speaking to The Express, she said: “We have WhatsApp. We have one WhatsApp group that’s got the producers in and another one that hasn’t got the producers in so we can b**** about them.
“If someone is having a bad time, if someone (a chaser) was losing a lot, we’d kind of be very reassuring because it could be any of us.”
Anne also revealed the group of Chasers would get together if they were having a particularly hard week. She added: “And we do socialise a lot. Especially when Mark (Labett) is down. Mark is probably the Chaser I know best. When he’s filming there’s a restaurant we go to where they know us and people don’t eavesdrop.”
The quizzer also praised the Chase host Bradley Walsh. Anne concluded: “(Bradley) is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.”
