An Arkansas man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he was identified as a suspect in the murders of his sister and parents earlier in the day.
The Bryant Police Department received a call around 7:30 a.m. from a man who returned home from work and discovered his wife and her parents deceased with gunshot wounds.
Three children were found in the home with no physical injuries.
Police officers and Saline County deputies arrested 34-year-old Jarrod Mitchell and charged him with three counts of first degree murder.
Police said they found signs of forced entry at the home, according to Law&Crime.
According to court documents, Mitchell has a criminal record involving drug-related offenses and was involuntarily admitted to a detox facility in 2017. Reports from that time revealed threats he made towards his mother, stepfather, and sister, with knives found placed on the bed and one in his possession.
The petition for Mitchell’s commitment was signed by his grandparents, with whom he was living at the time.
According to KARK, Mitchell was ordered held on a $2 million bond and is due back in court on August 5.
