Police in Alabama uncovered new details in the disappearance of a Huntsville realtor who vanished Thursday.
The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) reported that Ronald Dumas Jr. was captured on surveillance cameras exiting a Huntsville liquor store with two unidentified women on December 15.
A day later, authorities found Dumas’ car deserted on Interstate 40 in Tennessee, and his phone signal was traced 60 miles to the west from a cell tower neighboring Jackson.
According to the police, there are indications of Dumas’ phone being in motion towards the southern region of Memphis on December 21, a journey which his family described as extremely out of character for him.
Dumas is reportedly the father of three children and would never leave his children voluntarily. Loves ones said he didn’t show any signs of stress before he vanished.
“The traveling to Tennessee without notifying any family or friends, the abandoning of the vehicle on the side of the road, those things are just extremely abnormal,” Shakeria Samples, the mother of Dumas’ son, told News 19. “He’s not going to abandon his kids. He’s got three kids they love and adore him, He wouldn’t walk away from them.”
“We’ve all discussed amongst ourselves if we saw signs of him being stressed or under the weather or anything that would’ve caused concern for his mental health. This is not a mental health break.”
According to 7 Eyewitness News, Dumas’ disappearance has sparked a search for answers among family, friends, and colleagues, who are urging anyone with information to step forward.
Siniard Law, LLC, a personal injury law firm in Huntsville, has doubled the previously announced reward by matching the $5,000 offer. The total reward now stands at $10,000 for information that leads to Dumas’ whereabouts.
The Huntsville Police Department is asking anyone who was with Dumas on December 15, or anyone who may have seen him that night to come forward.
