The Community Housing Association want it quadrupled.

Kelly expressed, “Having one place of residence means I could switch off the survival mode.” On the political front, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher emphasized the importance of addressing homelessness and supporting pathways to home ownership, particularly advocating for such initiatives under a Labor government.
“We’ll always look at what more we can do.
“We get that people who rely on Commonwealth Rent Assistance are on low incomes, and housing costs really eat into your budget.”
The crossbench, too, wants more.
Senator Jacqui Lambie also weighed in on the conversation, emphasizing the need for legislative efforts to alleviate the financial burdens on citizens. She stated, “If every piece of law you’re putting up this week does not reduce the cost of living, then you’re failing this country.”
