Drake concert employee claims what REALLY happened at the US rapper's disastrous final show in Brisbane - after he cancelled the remainder of his Australia and New Zealand tour

An employee at Drake’s Brisbane concert has claimed there were disastrous issues with the US rapper’s final show on Tuesday night.

The famous artist known for the song God’s Plan, aged 38, suddenly departed Australia early on Wednesday after calling off the last four performances of his tour in Australia and New Zealand because of a ‘scheduling conflict’.

A Reddit user, who says they worked during the Queensland segment of the Anita Max Win Tour, now claims there were several timing issues related to Drake’s final performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

‘He wanted to do a closed sound check at 6pm. Which usually happens at 3pm,’ they claimed on Wednesday.

‘Everyone had to leave the building or stay in the courtyard if they had already been let in, but staff were allowed to stay.

‘We opened from 5:30pm and our first customer got in at 7:30pm and we were supposed to close outlets at 8pm but didn’t until 10pm.’

According to the user, attendees were stranded outside the venue while Drake was conducting a late soundcheck, mentioning that some people ‘were fainting due to the heat and getting bitten.’

They added: ‘Patrons attending the VIP party upstairs either had to get in before 5:30pm, or they were stuck outside and not allowed to join the party until gates re-opened.

‘He was late both nights because he wasn’t on site until he was ready to perform and barricaded the back of the arena to enter the stage that way instead of coming in from backstage.

‘Patrons were leaving by 10:30pm because it was either really late, or they thought it was too loud/bad sound and he finished at 11:30pm.’

On Wednesday, Drake cancelled the remainder of his Australia and New Zealand tour due to a ‘scheduling conflict’.

The rapper left Australia on Wednesday morning and returned to his native Canada via private jet.

He was due to perform at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 4, before heading back to Sydney for another show at Qudos Bank Arena on March 7.

The Canadian hitmaker was then set to play gigs in Auckland, New Zealand on March 15 and 16.

The news comes after the One Dance star partied at popular Brisbane nightclub The Tax Office until 4am in morning following his show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night.

He then flew to Fiji on his private jet at 6.40am Wednesday morning before heading to Toronto via Hawaii.

In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, Live Nation said they were working on rescheduling the remaining Australia and New Zealand tour dates and offered refunds to concertgoers who could not make the new dates.

‘We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,’ a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

‘All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.

‘We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon.

‘We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible.’

Confused fans have expressed their disappointment on social media and claimed the rapper would have known his schedule months in advance.

‘Why did Drake just cancel the rest of his tour and fly back to Canada?’ one person questioned.

‘Drake does this every tour, why are y’all surprised?’ another disappointed fan said.

Daily Mail Australia understands there had been plans to cancel the tour as early as Saturday but fans weren’t told till days later.

The Courier Mail has claimed Drake is returning to Canada for ‘personal reasons’.

The rapper was seen in good spirits in the early hours of Wednesday morning after partying at a Brisbane nightclub until 4am.

Drake arrived to the establishment at 1.45am after performing a show in the city on Tuesday night.

The nightclub was booked as a private function, with the rapper inviting between 300 to 400 women to the party with him.

The women were seen handing their phones to security at the door upon entering.

Drake was later seen leaving the venue at 4am before heading back to his hotel and then the airport.

He then left the country at 6.40am Wednesday morning and travelled to Fiji.

His plane is scheduled to leave for Hawaii for refuelling before touching down in Toronto.

It comes after rumours were also swirling that Drake had planned to have his stage equipment shipped to Europe.

Among the reasons for the rumoured cancellation were low ticket sales, with the star unable to sell out his second Brisbane concert.

Drake has already performed two shows in Perth, four shows in Melbourne, four shows in Sydney and two in Brisbane.

A famous OnlyFans model known as Blue Eyed Kayla Jade hinted in a TikTok video she was set to have dinner and drinks with Drake and a group of friends before his Brisbane gig on Monday.

The rowdy influencers shared a glimpse at their outfits for the evening in an Instagram post prior to the dinner but did not disclose any details.

Aussie reality star and heiress Emma ‘Pills’ Pillemer also appeared to get the VIP treatment at Drake’s Brisbane show on Tuesday night and was seen dancing in the sound booth.
