Married At First Sight bride Jamie Marinos is basking in the spotlight as she embarks on a solo publicity tour in New Zealand to promote the hit Aussie reality show, but her castmates are not happy

Jamie Marinos, a bride from Married At First Sight, is enjoying the attention spotlight as she sets out on a solo publicity tour in New Zealand to promote the popular Australian reality show.

Despite Jamie relishing the whirlwind opportunity, there is turmoil brewing in the background, as some castmates are said to be upset that she was picked for the sought-after job.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal some of Jamie’s co-stars are ‘absolutely livid’ she was hand-picked to represent the series overseas.

‘Jacqui Burfoot was convinced that she was going to be the one sent to New Zealand because she is a Kiwi,’ an insider said.

Another source revealed that fellow bride Awhina Rutene deserved the opportunity, given her New Zealand heritage.

‘Awhina consistently mentioned to everyone that Jamie would be selected and that she was the standout of the show. However, she still clung to the hope that she might get chosen,’ they revealed.

Even the grooms are outraged, with Adrian Araouzou allegedly boasting he was a shoo-in for the trip while Jamie’s partner Dave Hand felt he too should have been included.

‘Adrian was going around telling everyone that he was the star of the show and that he should be the one heading to NZ,’ the source added.

The jealousy appears to stem from last season, when fan favourite Lucinda Light was granted a three-day press trip across the Tasman.

Lucinda’s visit saw her meet with local press and boost her profile even further.

Jamie insists she had no idea she was in the running, telling Daily Mail Australia she was blindsided by the news.

‘To be honest, I didn’t even know this was a thing. I had no idea people go to New Zealand, so it was a very random call. I wasn’t gunning for it, I didn’t ask for it,’ she said.

‘I had no idea someone even goes to New Zealand. But I don’t make the rules, I don’t choose, and so I’m just grateful that I had this opportunity.’

Reflecting on her time in New Zealand, Jamie couldn’t contain her excitement.

‘It’s honestly been incredible being in New Zealand. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. I feel very honoured to have been chosen to come and represent the cast,’ she added.

'Awhina was always telling everyone that it was going to be Jamie and that she was the star of the show, but she still held onto hope that she would be chosen,' they explained

‘I grew up watching them on my screen and now they’re fangirling over me! It’s just such a full-circle moment,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Jamie admitted she’s ready to put the tension behind her and move on from the reality TV whirlwind.

‘I think I’m excited to just be able to close this chapter. It was a very intense journey. I did make a lot of amazing friendships along the way, but I’m excited to move forward.’

It comes after an insider claimed Jamie was branded the ‘producers’ pet’ by multiple female co-stars due to her strict adherence to production rules.

‘Jamie was pretty much the only cast member to follow all of the rules. On occasion, she would even let producers know when people were secretly meeting up away from the cameras or when they were chatting directly with media and paparazzi,’ a source told Yahoo Lifestyle.

‘Even now Jamie is the only person playing by the rules and her co-stars believe Channel Nine have promised to make her a star with future TV work and projects. There’s a lot of jealousy towards her from most of the cast.’

With tensions simmering, it remains to be seen how Jamie’s international success will impact her relationships with her castmates.
