Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez argue over the division of their $68 million shared property, which has been unsold for almost a year.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez appear to have conflicting views on the strategies needed to sell their $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills, which still remains unsold almost a year after being put on the market.

The 52-year-old Oscar winner, who hinted at reasons for the failure of his marriage to the singer, listed the expansive property for sale in July last year, but has yet to attract a buyer.

The former couple, whose divorce was finalized in January, had bought the property in cash for $60.8 million in May 2023.

However, sources have told TMZ that Affleck is eager to lower the price of the house while Lopez is not ready to do so – despite there not being much interest in the abode. 

Some realtors have also informed the outlet that the $68M asking price is too high and needs to be dropped by at least 15% if the pair want to offload their marital home.

An agent told TMZ that the two stars had overpaid for the estate – which consists of 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. 

But buyers who do have the finances to purchase a home around that price range are currently searching for deals in the market. 

Insurance costs are also on the rise – with insiders telling the outlet that insurance for the Beverly Hills mansion is estimated to be around $500,000 annually.

Earlier this year in January, deadly wildfires spread throughout Southern California which has also resulted in fire insurance costs catapulting. 

Last year in August – one month after the house was put on the market – Lopez and Affleck struggled to find a buyer, despite the renovations made. 

The following month, the stars faced a devastating blow after they accepted an offer on the estate.

Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim told Realtor.com in October 2024: ‘It would have been surprising for the house to sell in less than 100 days.’

He added, ‘Most homes of this magnitude are on the market for six months, and in many cases significantly longer.’ 

When Lopez and Affleck finalized their divorce, they also reached an agreement on the estate – although the terms have remained private. 

The latest update on the former couple’s Beverly Hills mansion comes not long after the Good Will Hunting actor seemingly dropped a hint about why his relationship with the performer came to an end. 

Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in 2022 but last year in August, Lopez filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary. 

During an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this week on Tuesday, he talked about his upcoming film The Accountant 2. 

While discussing his character of Christian in the movie, Affleck stated: ‘The people you love the most drive you the most crazy. And the humor is rooted in that relationship.’ 

And last week, Ben gave a shocking update on his relationship with Lopez after finalizing their divorce four months earlier. 

While talking to Entertainment Tonight, the actor expressed, ‘For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. 

While discussing his character of Christian in the movie, Affleck stated: ‘The people you love the most drive you the most crazy. And the humor is rooted in that relationship’; seen above in The Accountant 2 

‘I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.’ 

He made the comments while attending the premiere of The Accountant 2 – and revealed that Lopez’s twins Max and Emme, 17, had joined him. 

‘It’s a great night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited. I’m proud of the movie, I love the movie and I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting.’

Affleck continued, ‘I’m thrilled that the kids are here with me. The relationships that you can have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life. And those kids are amazing, and I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to.’ 

During an interview with British GQ earlier this month, Ben broke his silence on his divorce from Lopez. 

In regards to the cause of the former couple’s shock split, the Oscar winner expressed to the outlet that there was ‘no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue.’

The Good Will Hunting actor further stated that ‘the reason I don’t want to share that is just sort of embarrassing. It feels vulnerable.’

Ben also addressed his disinterested appearance in the singer’s documentary titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told and explained that he was ‘uncomfortable’ in front of the camera.

Affleck also stated that he had ‘found their privacy sacred’ and added, ‘Part of it was, “OK, if I’m going to participate in this, I want to try to do it in an honest way and in a way that’s interesting.” Because I thought it was an interesting examination.’

The actor then explained that the pair approach fame differently and said, ‘My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. As happens in relationships, you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things.

‘And so I thought, “Oh, this is interesting because how do you reconcile that?” Because exactly what you said is true.’

Ben added, ‘I love and support this person. I believe in them. They’re great. I want people to see that… You’ve got to own what you knew going into any relationship.’

The star said, ‘I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture. It’s not like you can watch that documentary and go, “Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.”‘

Affleck also told the outlet that despite the marriage ending, he still ‘has a lot of respect’ for Lopez.
