Ben Affleck sweetly embraced his oldest child Saturday outside his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.Â
At 52 years old, the actor displayed a mix of joy and relief on his face as he hugged his 19-year-old daughter Violet, who might be heading back to Yale University for the upcoming spring semester.
The well-known actor, who had recently purchased a house in Pacific Palisades that fortunately survived the devastating fire in the area, seemed to be staying at a temporary residence in Brentwood. This move came after his separation from his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.
The divorce of the former couple was officially completed in just over four months after the filing by the actress known for her role in the movie “Unstoppable” on August 22, 2024, as reported by Today.com.
Violet took precautions and wore what appeared to be an N-95 mask to protect herself from the smoke and dangerous particulates in the air.Â
The college freshman, whose mother is Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner, looked relaxed in a black hoodie and dark jeans with square framed glasses.

The pair reportedly enjoy a good co-parenting relationship.  Â
Garner has been spending time volunteering with chef Jose Andres and his World Food Kitchen to provide food for evacuees at various pop-up locations in affected areas.
In an interview with MSNBC, the broken-hearted star revealed a friend of hers from church had perished in the blaze.Â
‘I did lose a friend, and for our church, it’s really tender so I don’t feel like we should talk about it yet,’ the Deadpool and Wolverine actress said, her voice cracking.Â

The Air star, whose recently purchased home in Pacific Palisades survived the deadly fire that swept through the area earlier in the week, appeared to be hunkered down at a rental property in Brentwood, where he had been living after his separation from ex-wife Jennifer Lopez
‘My heart bleeds for my friends,’ Garner said. ‘I mean, I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost. I can — without even [thinking] — I could just write out a list of 100 friends who lost their homes.’
“I feel almost guilty walking through my house,’ she continued. ‘You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?’
‘I’ve lived in and around the Palisades for 25 years,’ she explained, ‘so I just think all of us, we want to get our hands into working, somehow, to be helpful.’
Garner’s home also seems to have survived the Palisades blaze, although she announced in an MSNBC resident a friend had lost her life. The actress has been using some of her time to volunteer with Chef Jose Andres and World Food Kitchen to provide meals for evacuees
‘And because of my work with Save The Children, we have a relationship with the chef, and I was able to just say, “Can I be with you for the day? What can I do to help? Put me to work.”‘Â
The Palisades fire, which swept through Garner’s neighborhood has continued to grow.
Evacuation orders were in place Saturday for some areas of Brentwood, and the hills of Encino and Tarzana putting an estimated 12,000 structures at risk.Â
According to KNBC, the Palisades fire had affected more than 22,000 acres was at 11-percent containment as of mid-day on Saturday. The Eaton fire, affecting parts of Pasadena and Altadena, was affecting more than 14,000 acres and was at 15-percent containment.Â
