Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds show affection and excitement while cheering on Wrexham AFC’s promotion win in Wales

It has been a tumultuous six months for Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds.

On Saturday, there was a reason for them to celebrate as they witnessed Blake’s football team, Wrexham AFC, achieve promotion for the third consecutive season. 

Blake, aged 37, displayed her excitement by leaping into the air each time the team from Wales scored goals, securing a triumphant 3-0 victory against Charlton Athletic. She observed the match from the stands alongside Ryan and the team’s co-owner, Rob McElhenny. 

Their win means they have been promoted from League One to the Championship.

They arrived early at the club’s SToK Cae Ras stadium yesterday where Ryan, 48, poured pints for fans before the game. 

Prior to the game, Blake and Ryan, who is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star Jason Baldoni, aged 41, took selfies together within the stadium premises. 

Ryan and fellow actor McElhenney bought Wrexham when it was languishing in non-league football for £2m four years ago.

And they were not going to miss the victory. 

Blake and Ryan arrived in Wales on Friday from the US, with Gossip Girl actress Blake posting a photo of the pair in front of the club’s bade with the caption: ‘Let’s go boys @wrexham_afc’ on Instagram.

Ryan has since reposted it with: ‘LET’S GO JETLAG (never going to sleep).’

It will make a refreshing change to be welcomed with such enthusiasm as they find themselves in a bitter war with Justin Baldoni.

Blake has been heavily criticised since she sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and retaliation last December.

He vehemently denies her allegations and filed a $400million defamation and extortion lawsuit against her, Ryan and their publicist Leslie Sloane. It is due to be heard in court in March 2026.

But Wrexham fans have remained loyal to the couple, insisting they backing they ‘won’t hear a word against’ their superstar owners.

Café owner Harry Gould, 29, said; ‘Ryan has been fantastic for the club and town.’He has done so much for the place and we think so much of him. We fully back Ryan.’    

Earlier in the day, Blake pushed the drama aside as she cheerfully posed for selfies and signed autographs ahead of the big game.

Treating fans to an appearance from the couple, Blake was glowing as she got involved and chatted to people in the crowd.

She looked effortlessly chic in a grey blazer, complete of course with a Wrexham AFC badge stiched on.

Blake layered the blazer over a red and blue checkered shirt and a white vest top, complete with blue jeans.

She wore her long blonde tresses in loose beacy waves and added a glowing palette of makeup to elevate her natural beauty.

The actress seemed to be on cloud nine as she made her way around the stadium with her husband Ryan, who cut a causal figure in a green jacket and black trousers.

The famous couple weren’t afraid to get stuck into the action as they mingled with excited fans.

Blake and Ryan then watched on with anticipation as the all-important game kicked off, looking as loved-up as ever as they shared a passionate smooch. 

The appearance comes just after Blake was slated for her speech at the Time100 Gala Thursday night.

Ryan accompanied his wife to Thursday’s event, where she was honored as one of the magazine’s most influential people of the year.

In her speech, Blake alluded to her legal war with former co-star Justin Baldoni while revealing her mother’s past assault by a ‘work acquaintance.’

She was blasted on social media for sharing her mother’s trauma, a decision that was slammed as an ‘obvious PR move’ amid her own ongoing feud with Baldoni.

A lip-reader allegedly revealed what Blake and Ryan said to each other at the Time100 Gala just before she rose to give her speech.

Expert Nicola Hickling, who is the founder of LipReader.co.uk, told DailyMail.com that Reynolds said to his wife, ‘I should be there, I need to shine right now.’

Ryan — who broke his silence on Lively’s speech during an appearance on Friday — then reportedly said, ‘You need to understand what I am saying to you right now.’

Blake was then pictured placing a hand on Ryan’s cheek and said ‘kiss me one more time.’

Ryan then got up and the two shared a brief kiss, before Blake stood up to give her speech, as captured in a video shared by Page Six.

During her speech Blake also thanked ‘every man, including my sweet husband [Ryan], who are kind and good when no one is watching.’

Ryan broke his silence on his wife Blake’s blistering speech as he stepped out solo for a Parkinson’s charity panel in New York City on Friday.

The actor told People: ‘I’m incredibly in awe of my wife in many ways’ despite his stoic appearance at Thursday’s event.

Body language expert Judi James told DailyMail.com that the couple’s interactions at the Time100 event hinted at subtle power plays and visible strain.

She explained how the actress seemed to steer the ship on the red carpet, even physically maneuvering Ryan into position.

‘Blake quite happily lets us know via her pointing and shrugging that she’s openly keen to get her reluctant-looking husband to pose solo,’ James noted.

Ryan and Blake began dating in 2011 and married the following year. They share four children: James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2.

The Gossip Girl star, who was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people, gave a lengthy speech at the event, held at Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

In a video shared to social media, the actress — who sparked a furious response from Megyn Kelly on the red carpet — publicly talked about her mother’s, 77, experience as a survivor of an assault by a coworker.

‘I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,’ Lively said, hinting at her ongoing bitter court battle with Baldoni, whom she accused of sexual harassment, which he denied.

Instead, she decided to speak about ‘the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.’

Blake shared that her life was ‘influenced most’ by her mother, Willie Elaine McAlpin, who, along with Blake’s husband Ryan, accompanied her to the event.

She explained her mom was the ‘survivor of the worst crime someone can commit against a woman.’

‘My mom never got justice from her work acquaintance who attempted to take her life when she was the mother of three young kids years before I was born,’ she said.

Blake stated that her mother credited a woman who shared a ‘similar circumstance’ on the radio with saving her life.

‘The woman painfully and graphically shared how she escaped. And because of hearing that woman speak about her experience instead of shutting down in fear and unfair shame, my mom is alive today. She was saved by a woman whose name she’ll never know.’

She then called womanhood a ‘pact that privately we must show others how to survive, literally or spiritually.’

‘We don’t let our daughters know, but one day we break their hearts by letting them in on the secret that we kept from them as they pranced around in princess dresses that they are not and will likely never be safe at work, at home, in a parking lot in a medical office, online — in any space they inhabit physically, emotionally, professionally.’

Blake called the ‘superpower of female triumph’ a ‘basic human right,’ and added, ‘Never underestimate a woman’s ability to endure pain.’

After thanking her husband towards the end of the speech, she added: ‘And to all the communities across the gender, age, political, geographical, and racial spectrum who fight every day just to be safe, I see you.’

Many fans criticized the star for discussing her mother’s ordeal, pointing out her silence on domestic violence while promoting It Ends With Us — directed by and co-starring Baldoni — which portrayed an abusive relationship.

‘Oh so now she is using her Mother’s SA to be likable??? But in August she didn’t mention DV when promoting a movie about DV. Interesting…’ one person wrote.

‘My mom is a victim so I know suffering too? What is the point in telling mom’s story?’ another person questioned.

Elsewhere in her speech, Lively also discussed being an honoree ‘in a time where the most valuable currency seems to be anger, it feels like an act of defiance to commune and celebrate all the good that is alive in the world.’

As for being called influential, she said, ‘How we use that matters. Who and what we stand up for, and what we stay silent about, what we monetize versus what we actually live, matters.’

Blake arrived at the gala in a shimmering red off-the-shoulder gown that highlighted her cleavage and featured a modest train trailing behind her.

Her mom looked elegant in a flapper-inspired black dress with chevrons of black sequins, along with a sheer black section covering her chest and sleeves.

Ryan favored classic men’s style with a black tuxedo and bow tie.
