Police in Sheffield have launched an appeal after a 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Parson Cross.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Lytton Road at 7.45pm on Sunday, November 19, following reports that a teen had been stabbed. Police believe that the teenager was approached by two unknown men as he was walking along the road before he was stabbed.

The boy was rushed to hospital from the scene where his injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. The two men fled the scene before police arrived and now police are appealing for anyone with information that may help their investigation to get in touch.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses, footage and information following the stabbing of a teenager in Sheffield. On Sunday (19 November) at 7.45pm, officers attended Lytton Road in Parson Cross following reports a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed.

“Enquiries carried out by detectives have led them to believe that the victim was walking along the road when two men, unknown to the victim, approached him and stabbed him. The offenders fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival and detectives are now keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident or any information that can help them identify those involved.

“The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”
