Today in Orlando, Florida, we can expect a peaceful and dry day, all thanks to the high pressure system situated over the state. This high pressure will gradually shift eastward towards the Atlantic, ensuring clear skies and a beautiful sunny day for us to enjoy.

The morning will start off a bit chilly, with temperatures ranging from the 40s to the 50s, but as the day progresses, we can look forward to temperatures reaching the upper 70s to low 80s by the afternoon. Throughout the night, the light winds and clear conditions will persist, possibly leading to some patchy fog formation late at night into early Thursday morning, especially in areas around or to the northwest of I-4.

Looking ahead to Thursday, the high pressure system will continue its journey eastward into the Atlantic, opening the door for a passing weather disturbance. While there might be a chance of showers along the Atlantic coast, those of us in the east-central region of Florida can anticipate dry weather prevailing through the week’s end.

Don’t forget we have a total lunar eclipse early Friday morning as the moon moves into the Earth’s shadow. For more on the Total Lunar Eclipse, click here.

    Total Lunar Eclipse – Friday

Temperatures will keep warming up. Highs will climb into the low to mid 80s by Friday.

    Weekend Changes:

The big shift happens over the weekend as a cold front nears the region. While the timing of this front isn’t perfectly clear yet, some forecasts suggest it could pass Sunday night, while others point into early Monday. Right now, it looks like we’ll see rain chances creeping up to 30-40% by Sunday night and possibly 40-50% on Monday, with a low threat for storms.

    Next Cold Front – Sunday

Before the front arrives, we’ll have some sunny, warm days.

Saturday will be hot, with highs in the mid to upper 80s across the interior, and near records (90 degrees) possible on Sunday. If we hit 90 degrees, it would be the first day in the 90s since early October!

    Near Record Highs – Sunday

Once the front moves through, cooler air will settle in by early next week, bringing highs back down into the 70s and lows in the 50s. So, after a toasty weekend, you can expect some relief early next week.

Overall, it’s a nice stretch ahead — just be prepared for the warmer temps and keep an eye out for that cold front toward the end of the weekend!
