4 killed in fire at Ashtabula County home, officials say; Ohio Fire Marshal investigating cause

The county coroner has not yet released the identities of the victims. The mobile home in Kingsville Township was completely destroyed.

KINGSVILLE, Ohio — Officials in Ashtabula County say four people are dead following a fire at a Kingsville Township mobile home early Monday morning.

The Kingsville Township Fire Department was summoned to a house on South Wright Street just before 5 a.m., as mentioned in a recent press release. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home completely consumed by fire, which ultimately led to its destruction before the combined efforts of several neighboring departments managed to bring the blaze under control.

Expressing their sympathy and support, the fire department extended their thoughts and prayers to the affected family and the first responders involved in what they described as an “absolutely tragic morning.” The gravity of the situation was acknowledged in a statement released by the department.

At present, the Ashtabula County Coroner’s Office has not disclosed the identities of the deceased individuals. Meanwhile, the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office has undertaken an investigation to determine the cause of the fire that resulted in this unfortunate incident.

“Please as a reminder for all to ensure you have a working smoke detector on every level of your house and in every bedroom,” Kingsville fire added on Facebook.
