The chief of staff for HOUSE Speaker Mike Johnson was taken into custody for reportedly driving while impaired.
The incident involving Hayden Haynes occurred on Tuesday night when he supposedly reversed his vehicle into a parked car, as stated by the US Capitol Police to The U.S. Sun.

According to Capitol Police, the statement released mentioned, “A driver backed into a parked vehicle last night around 11:40 p.m.”
“We responded and arrested them for DUI.”
The car Haynes allegedly struck was a Capitol vehicle, the outlet reported, according to NBC News.
Haynes was arrested and released with a citation to appear in court, the outlet reported.
When asked by NBC News if he was standing by his chief of staff, Speaker Johnson responded, “I am, I am.”
The arrest came about an hour after President Donald Trump delivered fiery remarked to Congress members during a joint address.
