It seems one country’s newly elected prime minister is taking a new tactic in an attempt to combat one of President Trump’s favorite narratives. 

Many viewers have likely watched the video featuring Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House, where he appeared visibly uncomfortable as President Trump persistently joked about the benefits Canada would have as the 51st state. Trump’s final taunt in the video is particularly noteworthy.

Carney and other Canadian politicians are hoping for support and unity from the former Prince of Wales, symbolized by gestures such as wearing a red tie (matching Canada’s flag) or the Queen donning a maple leaf brooch encrusted with exquisite diamonds from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection.
