Live CNN New Year's Eve segment goes off the rails as drag queen dares reporter to touch her 'dangerous' body part

CNN’s New Year’s Eve around the world all-day coverage faced chaos when a Taiwanese drag queen challenged a correspondent to touch her ‘pointy boobs’ on live television.

The incident occurred during a conversation between performer Nymphia Wind and news correspondent Will Ripley regarding Wind’s future plans post her triumph on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’.

Seemingly made in jest, the request paved the way for the reality personality to ask Ripley’s producers another loaded question.

She asked they edit in the act if Ripley obliged, leading to some awkward laughs.

Despite the unexpected moment, the remainder of the interview proceeded smoothly, with senior international correspondent Ripley, who is currently overseeing CNN’s Taiwan coverage, initially describing his guest as ‘the most diligent drag queen globally.’

‘I’m dying, thank God this is taped,’ Nymphia said before taking a drink of water in one of many comedic back-and-forths between the two.

‘Oh, girl,’ she added, hamming up the exasperation.

The spurred Ripley to ask about Nymphia’s busy schedule – leading to the lewd, less-than-serious proposition.

The exchange between Nymphia Wind and correspondent Will Ripley happened as the two spoke about Wind’s plans for 2025, in the wake of her win

Ripley, 43, asked, ‘How are you still standing right now? You need a vacation, girl’ – to which Wind replied: ‘I think I’m a workaholic. I’m just so used to being tired all the time.

Shortly after, Ripley commented on Wind’s bright-yellow outfit – a sequined number with pointed shoulder pads and cones where her breasts would be.

Joking that she had adopted the banana as her ‘brand’, Ripley went on to tell viewers how Wind – whose birth name Leo Tsao – makes most of her garments by hand.

He proceeded to hone in on the cone-shaped false breasts specifically, calling them ‘very pointy.

‘They look dangerous, actually,’ he joked.

‘Do you want to come touch and try?’ Wind asked, leading Ripley to break out in laughter.

Wind appeared to laugh it off as well, before speaking directly to those putting together the New Year’s Eve segment.

‘I dare you to edit that in, CNN. Edit in my pointy boobs!’ she asked, again eliciting laughs from Ripley.

The TV appearance served as only the latest from Wind, who star is rising following her RuPaul Season 16 victory.

Within days, she paid a vist then-Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen – dressed as a yellow water lily.

There, she twirled, sashayed and even did the splits in front of outgoing leader, before surfacing again at this summer’s controversial Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

The event saw performers embark on tableau that evoked Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’ – as well as drag artists and dancers.

Prior to making waves on the program, she reportedly served six months in the Taiwanese Fire Brigade. She reportedly attended college in England.
