A months-long investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old Connecticut man in the death of his 4-month-old daughter.
Kyle Vigneault has been charged with first degree manslaughter, risk of injury, and cruelty to persons, WCIT reported.
A report from Norwalk Police indicates that Vigneault contacted emergency services on June 11, 2024, reporting that his baby daughter was struggling to breathe after ingesting formula. According to Vigneault, he attempted CPR for a considerable duration.
First responders took the littler girl to Norwalk Hospital, where she died.
Upon conducting an autopsy, it was discovered that the infant’s demise was a result of neglect in medical care and nourishment, with necrotizing appendicitis and enduring malnourishment identified as causative elements. The examiner concluded that the death of the child was due to intentional harm, classifying it as a homicide.
Vigneault was arrested this week and ordered held on a $125,000 bond, according to WFSB. He is due in court on February 27.
