Connor Kasin’s obituary

In loving memory of Connor Kasin.

It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of Connor Kasin, beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate and friend. Connor left us too soon, doing what he loved most, on the ice playing hockey surrounded by his teammates.

A native of Massapequa, NY, his passion for hockey started from the moment he was old enough to hold a stick. Connor started skating almost from the time he was able to walk, progressing from Town of Oyster Bay youth hockey to play travel league hockey. But the jersey he prized wearing the most was that of his high school team, the Massapequa Chiefs. As a proud third generation family of Chiefs, Connor earned a spot on the varsity team as a sophomore and was looking forward to his senior season. On the ice he was known for his determination, boundless energy and fierce defending, but even more so as a beacon of sportsmanship and leadership. A lifelong NY Islander fan, his love for the sport was only rivaled by his love for, and from, the people in his life.

Off the ice, Connor was a kind and caring young man, who spoke softly and carried with him a smile that warmed every room he entered. He cherished spending time with his family, from their many journeys and countless miles logged together as a full time hockey family, to their annual retreat to Mexico, where they enjoyed a peaceful break and quiet time together. He was at the center of so many hearts, a role model to his siblings, a joy to his parents and grandparents, and a treasure to his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Connor is survived by his loving and proud parents Mary and Craig Kasin, retired Nassau Country P.D, his bothers Christian and Cole, his grandparents, Bruce and Mary-Ann Kasin, his beloved great grandmother, Honey, a large loving extended family of 12 aunts, 13 uncles, & 25 first cousins, and classmates, teammates and coaches, all who loved him dearly.

Calling hours to remember Connor will be held at Massapequa FFuneral Home South Chapel, Wednesday December 4th from 7-9PM, and Thursday December 5th from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, NY, with burial to follow St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

As we mourn the loss of our beloved Connor, we take solace knowing that he will forever skate in our hearts, his passion living in every life he touched, Rest in peace dear sweet Connor. You will be missed more than words can ever say.
