Every Oscars party canceled this year-find out which A-list bashes got scrapped as LA rebuilds from fires

Some Oscars parties have been scrapped due to the Los Angeles wildfires that swept through the city in January.

Despite 2025 Oscar bosses’ refusal to cancel Hollywood’s biggest night altogether, select private celebrations will not follow the typical itinerary.

More than 100,000 residents of Los Angeles were forced to evacuate their homes, with dozens tragically losing their lives due to the unprecedented wildfires that began with the Palisades Fire on January 7.

The Eaton Fire burned over 14,000 acres while the Palisades Fire scorched nearly 24,000 acres.

Even as Angelenos continue to cope with the aftermath of the wildfires, some talent agencies are opting out of hosting lavish events and parties.

United Talent Agency has shuttered its pre-Oscar party, opting to make fire relief donations instead, according to The Sun.

While the organizers of the 2025 Oscars have decided not to cancel the event entirely, certain private celebrations are adjusting their plans in light of recent events. (Irina Shayk, Emily Ratajkowski, and Adwoa Aboah are pictured at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.)

Similarly, William Morris Endeavor has also nixed its usual soiree that’s typically thrown at a private estate.

Alternatively, the agency will still have a small gathering at Chateau Marmont Hotel to honor its nominated clients.

Creative Artists Agency also scaled back, recognizing talent — including Ariana Grande and Demi Moore — at the novel, members-only club The Living Room on Friday evening.

CAA also made an effort to give back with a donation to SoCal Fire Fund for wildfire relief efforts, per the outlet.

The bigger, well-known after parties will still take place, including Vanity Fair’s annual extravaganza, and Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Gold Party.

Additionally, Madonna’s exclusive event will also move forward.

Fashion merchandisers Revolve and FWRD have organized an after-party to fundraise for those affected by the Eaton Wildfires.

The Sun noted, however, that the parties are not expected to have the usual A-list turnout seen in past years.

A source told the publication, ‘Many celebrities are sitting the Oscars parties out this year [because] publicists don’t think it’s a great look.

‘It’s kind of out of touch to be spending thousands of dollars on gowns and glam to party in a city where people have lost everything.’

Lawlor Media Group owner Norah Lawlor shared, ‘One big element of the Oscar weekend celebrations are the parties which often are underpinned by brand sponsors — which can seem out of touch with this year’s climate.

‘I have been running my PR Agency for 28 years and although I decided not to attend for the first time since the year The English Patient won out in 1996, I think it is good that the awards are going ahead.’

She explained, ‘LA does not need to lose revenue from tourism and events around the Oscars — which will only hurt the city further. I love the way the award season brings the entertainment industry together and provides a window into the trends that will shape society.’
