FOX News host Dana Perino has left an adoring comment on her news assistant’s social media post.
The protege knew she had a knack for news – same as her father – and quickly rose the ranks with the support of the Fox News star.

Perino offered Kate DePetro a coveted assistant position on her team after meeting her only a handful of times.
DePetro posted an Instagram photo of herself proudly standing behind the White House press room podium.
She tagged her boss in the caption, saying, “@danaperino, how do I look at the podium?”
“What a wonderful trip to D.C. I am so thankful & it was an adventure I’ll never forget!” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.
Perino commented on the rising star’s post, “Brilliant!!”
On her TikTok platform (@katedepetro), DePetro detailed how she landed her job in a video that has garnered over 30,000 views.
She said many of the followers have requested the “storytime” of how she met her current boss and how she began her news career at Fox News.
The native of Rhode Island revealed her lifelong dream of residing in Manhattan, leading her to enroll at Hofstra University, conveniently located just an hour away from the city.
Even though she focused on public relations in her studies and career, DePetro was influenced by her father, a local news reporter, and ultimately decided to follow in his footsteps.
She noted that from a very young age, DePetro engaged in political discussions with her family.
Her father had always been involved in Rhode Island’s political scene, emceeing the only Trump rally held in Rhode Island in April 2016.
DePetro decided to quit her job after working at a public relations agency for only three months.
She was thrilled to learn about an opening at Fox and Friends through a sorority connection.
As her career progressed, she shared anecdotes with her audience about the remarkable individuals she collaborated with, such as celebrities like Mark Wahlberg and influential figures like Nikki Haley.
Fox News hosts

Meet the hosts who appear on Fox News:
One of the guests happened to be her soon-to-be boss — Dana Perino.
When the Fox News star appeared on set, DePetro approached her and struck up a conversation.
She had already read Perino’s book and said it was exactly what she “needed to hear” at that point in her life.
“I went right up to her and said, ‘I love your book. I read it. It changed my life,'” she explained in the TikTok video.
“We stayed connected. When an assistant job came about, she offered it to me,” DePetro said.
DePetro ended the video with this piece of advice for young professionals: “I think that if you work hard, you’re positive, and you show up every day with a good attitude willing to work your butt off — people will recognize that and want to help you.”
