Declan Donnelly urgently treated for spider bite while hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in the Australian jungle.

Declan Donnelly needed medical attention after being bitten by a spider on the set of I’m A Celebrity. 

The presenter, 49, was checked over by professionals after noticing a mark on his neck. 

During an Instagram Live session, Ant McPartlin, the co-host of the show, shared that they had experienced quite a bit of drama both on and off the show. Dec, the other host, had a spider on his neck that bit him, leading to the need for medical attention from the show’s medic.

Dec then shared a picture of the spider he was bitten by – admitting it jumped onto his script before biting his neck.

In a playful manner, Dec joked about the incident, mentioning that the medic informed him that he was fortunate to still be alive. He added a touch of humor by saying that his survival was attributed to his fitness, health, and masculinity.

Yet Ant was quick to laugh: ‘No, she didn’t, she said it was a jumping spider and it was absolutely fine.’

Australia is notorious for its high percentage of deadly arachnids, among them funnel-web and redback spiders. Both contain enough venom to cause death. 

The country is also home to the white-tailed and wolf spiders – bites from either can cause  skin necrosis, commonly referred to as gangrene. 

On Monday the pair shared a video with followers after spotting another native Australian spider – the Huntsman – on the ceiling of their outdoor studio. 

The creature – referred to as the crab spider due to its enormous size – is common to Australia and other tropical regions, including Africa, Asia and the Americas. 

Prior to the incident, Tulisa Contostavlos became the third contestant to be voted off this year’s show. 

The N-Dubz star looked visibly disappointed as her name was called as she found herself in the bottom two with Oti Mabuse after the public vote. 

Leaving the jungle to join Ant and Dec, the singer appeared deflated as she told the hosts: ‘I’m not going to lie like it is tough in there.’

And fans were left shocked at the result as they took to Twitter to share their surprise as they exclaimed: ‘Ahh Tulisa should have been there way longer’. 

They wrote: ‘Ahh Tulisa should have been there way longer’; ‘NOT TULISA’; ‘I’m baffled that Tulisa left tonight? Thought she was a finalist for sure’;

‘F*** OFF I thought Tulisa would last way longer. She was bloody lush, you can tell that not enough people are educated in the magic of n-dubz’;

‘Okay it’s not funny now get her back in’; ‘I didn’t see that coming’; ‘What do you mean Tulisa’s been voted off?!’;

‘TULISA IS GONE.’; ‘barry & melvin getting saved over tulisa… excuse me’; ‘Tulisa’s out but Maura and GK are still there…’; ‘How is tulisa 3rd out wanted her to win’;

‘I’ve always liked Tulisa ever since she first started out in N-Dubz, she’s been a great Camp Mate and she’s so lovely’; 

Another noticed Tulisa’s shocked reaction as they penned: ‘Think Tulisa is pretty shocked she’s out’. 

Meanwhile another fan wrote: ‘i refuse to believe that she got less votes than melvin’. 

Talking about her time in camp with Ant and Dec, Tulisa admitted: ‘It doesn’t feel real, I can’t believe what I just did.’ 

Asked what she has learnt about herself she added: ‘I don’t know, I guess just stay strong with your convictions and remain you.’

While Tulisa found herself in the bottom two with Oti, the singer confessed the professional dancer is her winner as she gushed: ‘She has been my rock, she is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met in my life. She is my soul sister.’
