Fans Worry Christopher Walken Is ‘Not Long for This World’ after Rare Outing with Wife of 54 Years

Christopher Walken currently lives the perfect life for a man of 80. He and his wife, Georgianne, met on the set of “West Side Story” in 1963, but they married six years later and have stayed together since.

Their current residence is located two hours north of Manhattan. It’s a rural town in Connecticut, and the actor loves his home, especially because his family gets to celebrate everything there each year.

In an interview with The Guardian, the actor expressed how shocking it was to see pictures of himself:

“Yes! Every birthday’s a big thing. There’s a certain shock to it. I’m in here, and then I’ll see a picture of myself and, you know, I’m old. And stuff happens. My hands get sore.”

However, he joked that having hair helps him to look younger and believes that his genes have contributed to his long life. The actor’s mother died at 104, while his father almost reached a century. If he follows his parents’ trend, he has more than 20 years to go.

Walken and his wife never had children, although they’re both from an older generation. When asked about it, he said:

“It never happened. Somebody once said that children are a miracle. I think that’s true. Not everybody has them. I don’t mind. My brothers have kids. I’ve always had kids around. And my wife, frankly – we never talk about it – but I notice she dotes a bit on my nephews and nieces. She’s always buying them stuff. She’s a little bit of a hen about the kids. Yeah.”

While the couple doesn’t have kids, they have a cat. The actor told Interview Magazine that he comes up with several names for his pet, including Flapjack, Bowtie, and Popcorn. However, they mostly call it “cat.”

Walken, who still has an active career, doesn’t think he could be anything but an actor. But he enjoys his current calm life. When asked what matters to him most, he struggled to answer. Ultimately, he said:

“Every once in a while — certainly not often — I’ll be looking out the window, and I’ll think, I feel pretty good. My bills are paid, my wife is healthy, the weather’s nice. That’s really all I care about: when, apropos of nothing, I happen to look out the window and think, This is good.”

Walken was recently spotted attending Robert De Niro‘s 80th birthday party in New York City. Georgianne, 79, was with him, and they were both in casual, comfortable clothes. The actor seemed relaxed and signed a few autographs for fans outside.

However, the photos of him posted by the Daily Mail seemed to worry many online users, who were not prepared to see his current appearance. One user, Kery, from Vancouver, Canada, noticed something strange on his hands and wrote:

“What is on his hands it looks like red swollen nodules (sic).”

Another user, Globbal, from Charleston, United States, wrote, “Oh, my goodness. He does not look well.” Many people were concerned, while some said he may not have long in this world.

Some messages were cruel, as they called him a “corpse.” Despite the comments, Walken seems to be in great health and good spirits as he gathered with his wife and other celebrities to enjoy his “The Deer Hunter” co-star’s birthday.
