Fatboy Slim’s mother has died, his son Woody Cook has confirmed.
The DJ, real name Norman Cook, who shares Woody with radio presenter ex-wife Zoe Ball, has yet to comment on his mum Ros’ passing.
Woody announced the heartbreaking family news on Instagram on Saturday, revealing that she died on Christmas day.
The news of Ros’ passing comes eight months after the death of Zoe’s beloved mother Julia, who died after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March.
Woody shared a heartfelt announcement about the recent events in his life. He expressed both the ups and downs he has experienced throughout the year. Unfortunately, his Granny Ros passed away on Christmas Day. Despite the sadness of her passing, he remembered her as an amazing woman who was ready to transition into her next life. Woody found inspiration in her optimistic outlook and mentality.

On a brighter note, Woody highlighted the positive experiences he has had in New York. Although he felt homesick during important days like his birthday and Christmas, he found solace in his hard work on his music, which is starting to show promising results. He also expressed gratitude for the support and love he receives from his friends in New York, whom he now considers to be like family.

Woody posted a picture of himself and his sister Nelly with his grandparents, in which he had his arm wrapped around his late grandmother.
He also shared a photo of himself from a recent trip to New York, which took place over the festive period with his mother and sister.

The death marked the second grandmother of Woody’s to have died this year.
In April, former Radio 2 host Zoe announced her mother, Julia, had died after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March.

Woody also shared a nostalgic photo from his childhood featuring himself, his sister Nelly, and Granny J. In his caption, he bid farewell to Granny J, honoring her as a wonderful woman who held a special place in his heart. Woody cherished the memories of her, especially noting her as the only person who consistently sent him a valentine’s card.
Woody also referenced his grandmother’s late husband Rick Peckham who died in 2013, as he added: ‘I know you’re with Rick now, give him a hug from me.’

Zoe has told fans she is ‘bereft’ following the death of her ‘dear mama’. She paid an emotional tribute to her late mother after holding her funeral following her death from pancreatic cancer.
She took to her Instagram account to share family photos as she told her followers it had been a tough but ‘perfect’ day.
‘Yesterday we said goodbye to our dear Mama, Granny J. it was the perfect day and she would have loved it ☀️,’ she wrote.

Zoe went on to thank her two children for their eulogies, and the rest of her family and fans for their support.

Zoe vowed to fundraise for cancer research in the future after explaining how Julia died just 12 weeks after her February diagnosis.
‘My wonderful brother Jamie @tikikontiki and i will be fundraising in the future for the fantastic caring folk at @stpeterstjames & @pancreaticcanuk let’s hope one day more can be done to help those diagnosed. our Mum was diagnosed In February, we lost her in just 12 weeks.
The carousel of family photos showed childhood snaps of Julia and ones of Zoe as a young child with her mother, through to more recent shots that captured Julia as ‘Granny J’.
Zoe had previously announced her mum’s cancer diagnosis in March.
Zoe then told her BBC Radio 2 listeners Julia had been transferred to a hospice, as she dedicated a Bon Jovi song to paramedics who helped her.

In April the much-loved broadcaster shared the news of her mother’s passing on Instagram. In a tribute, she said: ‘Sleep tight dear Mama.
‘Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy. And how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
It continued: ‘We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace & your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us.’
After announcing her mother’s illness in March, Gaby Roslin ‘occasionally’ stepped in to replace her on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show so the pair could spend time together.
