A West Virginia man was indicted on Monday for sexually abusing his daughter and fathering three of her children.
Initially charged in April, Kenneth Cook, aged 43, was accused of committing incest with his child. Officials stated that the three children resulting from this non-consensual and incestuous relationship were experiencing neglect, as reported by WVVA.
Currently, Cook is confronted with 149 criminal charges. Shortly after his arrest, the victim shared on Facebook details of the alleged sexual abuse she had endured from her father. She disclosed that she had tried to report Cook multiple times since the age of nine, but her grandmother had convinced Child Protective Services that she was fabricating the claims.
Cook also suggested he would harm her daughter if she told about the abuse, she claimed.
Detailing her ordeal, she mentioned on the social media platform, “My youngest child faced health complications and had to spend his first week in the hospital. However, he was denied further medical attention because his father feared the truth would come out. I was left to care for a sick baby who was in dire need of medical help on my own.”
Cook remains jailed on $500,000 bond. He is due back in court on June 24.
