A SICK dad who raped his eight-day old daughter before killing her in cold blood has been given two life sentences.
Hugo Ferreira, 37, a convicted pervert, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for his cruel and monstrous actions. His acts have been described as brutal and ruthless.
A court in South Africa heard how Ferreira raped his daughter while his wife was out shopping for nappies – just because she would not stop crying.
Mum Maureen Brand returned later that day and found her baby severely injured after being raped by the evil father who brutally attacked her.
The baby was rushed to hospital, where she died the following day due to head injuries.
Ferreira made the unfathomable claim that he assaulted the baby sexually because he had “decided to give her something to cry about”.
The monster said he hid the gravely injured baby from her mother when she returned because “she would see that something was wrong”.
He added that he knew his daughter was “seriously injured” but did not seek help.
The sick man also admitted to continuing his barbaric crime despite knowing it was wrong and that the baby could die.
In court, Ferreira admitted to forcefully grabbing a baby by the back of her neck, repeatedly hitting her buttocks, and pushing her head against a surface.
“I accept that it was a cruel and gruesome attack, especially on such a young baby. The action was clearly illegal and I did it with intent.”
The judges said in the ruling that there was no reason not to give the dad a life sentence.
The sentencing decision declared that Ferreira would serve life imprisonment for both the murder and rape charges, with no chance of mitigation.
Ferreira said he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time, but not influenced by the drug to the point of being unaccountable for his actions.
The wicked crime was committed while Ferreira and Maureen were staying in a back room at one of the railway houses at the entrance to Welverdiend, west of Johannesburg.
He has threatened to kill his ex-wife if he is not jailed, reports news24.
