Florence Pugh swaps fashionista status for Guinness World Record holder after performing terrifying skyscraper stunt for latest movie

Modern-day screen idol? Check. Female role model? Check. Super hero? Check.

Now Florence Pugh has a new string to her bow and has entered the Guinness World record books following a terrifying stunt for latest Marvel movie Thunderbolts.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar the British star revealed she landed her latest accolade after the film saw her jump off the world’s second-tallest building – Malaysia’s 2,227ft Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur – on wires.

Little Women actress Florence, 29, the cover girl of glossy magazine’s May’s issue, told the publication the stunt came while filming her latest action movie, out next month, in which she plays Black Widow – alias Yelena Belova.

The stunner, who wore a carefree £1,295 red and pink shirt dress from Irish designer Simone Rocha, and a pink ruffled gown from luxury Serbian brand Roksanda, said: ‘I got to do a stunt that has never been done before’.

‘My double, the female co-ordinator and I are all now Guinness World Record holders. I give so much of my body to what I do.’

Elsewhere in the interview Oscar nominee Florence opened up about her busy schedule and plans to one day settle down.

She said: ‘I’ve worked back-to-back since I started, and I’ve missed so much. I’ve now come to terms with things that I don’t like about myself and want to change. I don’t want to have things just happen to me any more’.

However despite her being one of Hollywood’s most famous faces and adored by millions, she branded herself ‘tricky’ to love as she opened up about her personal life.

‘I’m more sympathetic to the people who are in love with me, because it’s not easy! I’m tricky, I’m always busy, I can never make dates’.

Adding: ‘But it’s not good enough for me to ask someone to just to accept that. I’ll just end up alone. I don’t want that,I want a family.’

Last year she confirmed her relationship status after sparking romance rumours with Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole.

The Don’t Worry Darling actress was seen slipping out of The Perfect Couple premiere after-party as she made a quick getaway with the actor.

Confirming her loved-up status during her cover shoot with Vogue, she said: ‘I am. OK, so something that I resonate with is that I believe that if magic is real, then it’s falling in love.’

Opening up about her love life, she candidly revealed that the couple are ‘figuring it out’ and admitted she is ready to start a family.

She added: ‘We are figuring what we actually are. And I think for the first time, I’m not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster.

‘I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.’

‘Falling is the most amazing feeling but unfortunately if that’s the only thing that you know in a relationship, then that’s the thing that you chase. That’s not gonna last.’

Promoting her upcoming film, We Live In Time, which also stars Andrew Garfield, Florence revealed she is now ready to focus on love and start a family.

She explained: ‘I was at the right age for this movie to land. I was going through a lot of weird stuff with relationships last year and I think part of the story is to not be passive, is not to let things wash over you.

‘I want to go and find love and I want to have babies.’

Prior to Finn, Florence was in a relationship with former Scrubs star Zach Braff, 49,  from 2019 until their split in 2022.

Giving a rare insight into their relationship, the star explained: ‘I had to be public in the past because people were bullying me and bullying my partner.

‘Mine and Zach’s relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families. And that’s when I spoke out.

‘I think for anyone I’m with, I want to protect them. It’s not nice knowing that people are saying the worst things I’ve ever read about someone that I love.

‘So that was necessary. I needed to talk about it. I think any relationship in this limelight is going to be stressed.’

Florence confirmed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in August 2022 that the pair had gone their separate ways.

She told the magazine at the time: ‘We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on.

‘We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that.’

The pair later reunited during the release of their film A Good Person in 2023, with Zach explaining at the time that the pair still ‘love each other’ despite now only being ‘friends’.

The May issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale from 17 April
