A FOX News panelist has revealed that she’s been battling stage 3 cancer for six weeks in a heartbreaking live TV admission.
The contributor opened up about her own health struggles as she debated the hazy timeline of Joe Biden’s aggressive cancer diagnosis.
During a recent appearance on Howard Kurtz’s MediaBuzz show, political analyst Lucy Caldwell found herself sparring with fellow panelist Clay Travis over the speculation surrounding Joe Biden potentially hiding his health status. It was during this debate that Caldwell decided to share her own personal battle.
She said “we just don’t know” when exactly Biden was first stricken with the disease, and added that it can come about quickly and aggressively.
Caldwell admitted that the “optics” of the diagnosis are bad for the Biden camp, but stressed that the disease is “nuanced.”
After speaking about the ups and downs of the health battle, she admitted, “I actually will tell you something. I have cancer.”
“I am actively a cancer patient right now. I also feel great.”
Reflecting on her own struggle, Caldwell highlighted how the fight against cancer can be a constantly shifting one, influenced by the effectiveness of treatment methods. She also emphasized the difficulty of gauging one’s day-to-day condition in such circumstances.
“You get the cancer diagnosis, it could be weeks or months before you know more about your cancer,” she said.
The brave panelist appeared to well up as she made a final call for compassion for anyone who is fighting the disease.
“It is important that we show compassion and care and understanding about the nuance and complexities of these illnesses,” she said.
Kurtz and Travis, who founded the commentary website OutKick, voiced their well-wishes for Caldwell and said they hope she sees a full recovery.
Caldwell is a political advocacy expert who has implemented technology to help promote policy issues, according to her LinkedIn page.
In 2019, she worked as the campaign manager for business tycoon Joe Walsh, who challenged then-incumbent Donald Trump for his nomination.
During her work with Walsh, she founded the audience engagement company Mockingbird Lab, which she continues to run.
