Gabby Petito’s Dad Makes One Request Of His Followers On The Anniversary Of Finding Her Body

Joe Petito and Nicole Schmidt tragically lost their daughter, Gabby Petito, more than two years ago. While this was absolutely devastating, Joe and Schmidt are using their platform to help other missing persons cases. They created the Gabby Petito Foundation, which aims “to address the needs of organizations that support locating missing persons and to provide aid to organizations that assist survivors of domestic violence through education, awareness, and prevention strategies.” The Petitos continue to use their platform for good and hope they can help other people who are facing situations similar to theirs.

On the anniversary of discovering Gabby’s remains, Joe shared a photo of his daughter with a caption reminding the public what they can do to help families of missing individuals. He began his post by recalling the tragic day he found out they discovered his daughter’s remains, writing, “We miss you every day. 2 years ago today we got the worst news a parent can get.” He continued, “While our pain will never go away, we all can help others who have their loved ones missing. Please share a missing person flyer and spread awareness for the #missing #togetherwecan.” Although Joe experienced immense tragedy with the loss of his daughter, he wants use his family’s nightmare to help make a difference in other unsolved missing persons cases.
