George Clooney, 63, appears tired while spending time in NYC with stylish spouse Amal, 47, following candid discussion about challenges of raising children

George Clooney and wife Amal were spotted holding hands when they decided to step out together in New York City Thursday night.

While the two-time Oscar winner took the lead when they made their way out to the bustling streets of Manhattan, the usually beaming star appeared to be in a serious mood with a weary look on his face. 

His wife of more than 10 years had quite the opposite demeanor, flashing a big happy smile as the couple were seemingly led away with the help of a man who stayed close by them. 

In keeping with her glamorous reputation, the world-renowned international human rights lawyer looked stylish in black pants and matching stiletto boots, along with a long gray turtleneck sweater. 

The Beirut, Lebanon native, 47, who grew up in the UK since she was two, also sported a gray overcoat, a stylish black purse, and had her dark brown tresses flowing down past the middle of her back and over her left shoulder with a center part.

As for the usually dapper Clooney, 63, he decided to go with a slightly more casual-cool look in dark blue slacks, matching coat with black zipper-sweater underneath, and a pair of lighter blue slip-on shoes.

In an added touch of classy style, the Gravity star wore a black, white and gray plaid fedora over his short salt and pepper-colored hair.

The duo were again seen soon after making their way around the Big Apple in a hurry with the father of two leading the way, all the while still holding hands with the radiant Amal.

Their night out together comes in the wake of Clooney opening up about some of the struggles the high-profile couple have faced parenting their seven-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.

In the past he humorously expressed concern over their kids becoming ‘too British’ due to their exposure to English slang and culture.

In one conversation with Stephen Colbert in 2020 he revealed how he has tried to steer them away from British terms like ‘jumper’ and ‘pavement’ in favor of the American equivalents sweater and sidewalk, as reported by The Express Tribune.

When it comes to holiday traditions Alexander has even insisted to his parents that Santa Claus prefers ‘milk and a mince pie,’ in another shift toward British culture.

It turns out, the twins have already learned to speak French and Italian, both of which Clooney doesn’t understand.

Showing off his self-deprecating humor by calling himself ‘not very smart’ during a 2023 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Clooney shared about how his children call him out when he attempts to fake phrases in these languages.

Their night out in NYC comes just days after the acclaimed actor and director appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where he dished about topics such as politics and his career.

The Lexington, Kentucky native was there to promote his Broadway play Good Night, And Good Luck, which is based on the movie of the same name he starred in, co-wrote and directed nearly 20 years earlier. 

The Clooneys were married by friend, Walter Veltroni, who’s the former mayor of Rome, on September 27, 2014 at Ca’ Farsetti, a palace in Venice, Italy.

They would go on to expand their family with the arrivals of Ella and Alexander less than three years later, in June 2017.
