A Pennsylvania woman who reportedly vanished on Monday after falling into a sinkhole was found dead on Friday.
The search for Elizabeth Pollard, aged 64, entered into a recovery phase on Wednesday following her disappearance in Union Township. While the precise location of Pollard’s discovery remains unknown, Trooper Steve Limani confirmed to WPXI that her body was indeed found.

Pollard was reportedly looking for her cat when she vanished. Her 5-year-old granddaughter was found in a car 15 to 20 feet from where she disappeared. Officials said they believe the ground gave way below Pollard, not that she walked into an existing sinkhole.
While listening devices did not detect any sound in the sinkhole, cameras reportedly caught a glimpse of a shoe. Officials said the shoe appeared “modern.”
State police will hold a press conference on Friday, following the discovery of Pollard’s body. It is unclear whether her body has been recovered from the sinkhole.
