A Texas man was charged this week with the murder of his 106-year-old grandmother.
Amarillo police were summoned to the residence of Cecilia Ferguson and her 35-year-old grandson, Michael Alexander Ferguson, on November 26 following a report of her death, as reported by KFDA.
Upon arrival, officers noted suspicious elements related to her death, although they have refrained from disclosing specific details. Despite the grandson’s denial of any involvement, he was taken into police custody and charged with injury to the elderly.
After further investigation, he was charged on Monday with murder.
Authorities have not revealed the cause of the elderly woman’s death or the evidence linking her grandson to the incident. According to jail records, Ferguson remains in custody with a combined bond amount of $353,000.
