Gwen Stefani Makes 'Third Party' Confession About Her Marriage, Advises Others To Do The Same

Gwen Stefani is offering fans a glimpse into her marriage with Blake Shelton, and it appears that their not-so-secret weapon is not a couple’s counselor or a Hollywood relationship guru, but something with a touch of the divine.

Stefani and Shelton were first introduced while serving as coaches on “The Voice” in 2015, both fresh out of divorces and dealing with heartache. In July of that year, Shelton finalized his divorce from Miranda Lambert following a four-year marriage, and shortly after, Stefani and Gavin Rossdale ended their 13-year union.

In October 2020, the pair revealed their engagement, as Shelton proposed with an eight-carat diamond ring valued at approximately $500,000.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in 2021.

While appearing on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the No Doubt frontwoman revealed the best advice she’s ever received about love, and it’s surprisingly spiritual.

“Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party,” she said, as she looked upward and pointed to the sky, signaling she was referring to God. The crowd erupted in applause as Stefani smiled and nodded.

Stefani doubled down on the sentiment, saying that keeping God at the center of her relationship with the country superstar is “the key to their happiness.”

The couple has since become one of the industry’s favorite love stories, blending their worlds of pop-punk and country charm. Gwen shares three sons, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, with Rossdale, and Blake has stepped into the role of stepdad with open arms.

Last November, Stefani opened up to The Guardian about just how life-changing their romance has been, calling her relationship with Blake a “second chance at life.”

“When my family fell apart, it was a catastrophe,” she recalled. “How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me.”

Their love has even bloomed, literally, through shared passions like gardening. During the pandemic, the couple discovered old purple irises blooming near a historic building on their Oklahoma property. The moment inspired Stefani’s romantic ballad “Purple Irises.”

“Someone must have planted [them] centuries ago, but they’ve survived,” she said. “I wrote the song ‘Purple Irises’ about that and how it feels to find true love and the insecurities of not wanting to lose it.”

Gwen Stefani is trading her Harajuku girls for holy cards in a surprising new partnership that has the internet doing a double-take.

As The Blast reported last year, the No Doubt frontwoman and longtime pop icon has officially teamed up with Hallow, a Catholic prayer and meditation app, for its recent holiday campaign, joining Christian music stars like Lauren Daigle, Matt Maher, and Sarah Kroger to help lead a special Advent challenge.

The goal? To help users “prepare your heart for Christmas and rediscover the wonder of Christ’s coming into this world and our [hearts],” according to the app.

And while Stefani has long been vocal about her love for Blake Shelton, country music, and even gardening, this latest move into public spirituality is a whole new look, one many fans didn’t see coming.

“Hallow isn’t just politically aligned—it’s a scam,” someone expressed on Threads. “The app puts God’s grace behind a paywall, limiting access to spiritual content unless you fork over cash. Faith shouldn’t come with a subscription fee. Don’t use this app.”
