A missing Hawaii woman was reportedly seen crossing into Mexico as officials suggest she is not the victim of foul play.
KNBC sources revealed that Hannah Kobayashi, aged 30, was spotted leaving the country close to Tijuana on dates between November 12 and 13. This sighting occurred shortly after she failed to catch a connecting flight from Los Angeles International Airport in California to New York and subsequently disappeared.
“She’s an adult and she can choose to be missing,” a senior law enforcement official told the news outlet.

Approximately two weeks after Kobayashi’s disappearance, her father allegedly leaped from a parking deck at the same airport while in search of her. His death was ruled as a suicide.
Since then, Los Angeles police Chief Jim McDonnell said Kobayashi intentionally missed her flight, which was initially scheduled for November 8.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Kobayashi’s family grew worried after receiving suspicious messages from her, in which she claimed that someone was attempting to steal her money and identity.
Kobayashi’s family has disputed McDonnell’s claims that she left willingly.
“It does not appear that Hannah intentionally missed her flight,” her sister wrote. “The lack of communication surrounding some important details has left us feeling excluded from potentially crucial developments.”
Her family said the footage they reviewed suggests she is not in “good condition and she is not alone.”
