A DOG has been patiently waiting for her owner to return at the local corner shop where they normally would – but the owner died months ago.
The loyal dog, Moo Dang, stays outside the Yamo Market in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, where her homeless owner used to walk her around while he tried to sell items.
The heartbreaking pictures show Moo Dang sleeping near the entrance of the 7-Eleven shop as customers go in and out of the store.
The loyal pooch takes naps at the spot, as she wears a t-shirt to protect her from the outdoor conditions.
Her owner, unnamed, passed away in November 2024 after falling seriously ill.
It is not know what the owner died of.
A street food seller named Somneuk Wisetnok mentioned, “I saw Moo Dang with the homeless man for four years until the owner sadly passed away towards the end of last year.
“But Moo Dang refused to leave and slept in front of the convenience store all the time as if she was waiting for her owner.
“Moo Dang is docile and friendly. She is loved and adored by the vendors in the market, who always bring her snacks, rice, and water.
“The owner of the convenience store and the staff also take good care of her and even take her to the vet.”
Moo Dang’s gutting story has won the hearts of locals in the area, who refer to her as the “Hachiko of Korat”.
Hachiko was an Akita dog in Japan known for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the University of Tokyo.
Hachiko continued to wait for him daily at Shibuya Station for nearly ten years after his death in 1925, becoming a symbol of enduring devotion.
Korat is another name for Nakhon Ratchasima province.
HERO MUM DOG
The Sun recently reported on the amazing moment a dog who had lost almost her entire litter carries her last dying pup to the vet to be treated.
Footage shows the exhausted mum trotting through the rain to deliver her struggling pup to the surgery – where she somehow knows it will be helped.
The mum drops her baby off right by the door where it is soon noticed by a vet on duty who comes out to investigate.
It is quickly realised the pup is horribly sick and suffering from hypothermia, and it is rushed inside for urgent treatment.
Vets discovered that the dog had a dangerously low heart rate and had to quickly admit the small dog into intensive care, saving the puppy just in time thanks to the mother dog bringing her in.
Veterinarian Baturalp Oghan revealed that all but one of the rest of the young litter had tragically perished.
Vets simply named the heroic dog “Mom”.
The amazing act of parental determination happened in Istanbul, Turkey.
Mom refused to leave her baby’s side, and is seen coming to check on it whilst it is being treated on the operating table.
Dr Oghan said: “Everything is going well so far. The treatment for both the puppy and its sibling will continue for a little longer.
“During this time, we are not accepting visitors due to their health.
“The mother dog is recovering well.
“Her story has intrigued so many people, she’s a very intelligent and caring dog.
“It shows the love that a mother dog has for her puppies.”
