Hilton Hotels apologizes to red-faced guest after staff member sent number for SEX HOTLINE instead of customer service

HILTON Hotels has publicly apologized after a guest was mistakenly directed to a sex hotline instead of customer service.

The red-faced guest demanded answers after calling the number and being directed to “hot ladies.”

User Greg R shared a funny incident he experienced online on March 9. He tweeted, “Hi @HiltonHotels, my wife tried using your app to make reservations, and it redirected her to an adult sex hotline???”

He posted a photo of a chat between Lori, presumably his wife, and a worker named Paige.

Lori had asked to confirm a phone number for Hilton Hotels’ Verification help desk.

Then, Paige confirmed that the number was “800-548-8697.”

In the video attached to the tweet, Greg’s wife can be seen dialing the provided phone number, only to be greeted by an automated message saying, “Welcome to America’s hottest hotline.”

“Guys, hot ladies are waiting to talk to you. Press one now,” the recording said.

“Ladies, to talk to interesting and exciting guys free, press two to connect free now.”

In an urgent response on X, Hilton Hotels quickly apologized for the eyebrow-raising phone call.

“Hi. We sincerely apologize for the typo,” the company wrote.

“The correct number is 1-800-548-8690 or feel free to send us a DM for assistance,” the worker named Zon replied moments after Greg posted.

HILTON SHUTS SHOP

Hilton Hotels made headlines in February 2024 over a less risqué issue – the closing of a location in New Jersey.

WABC, a local ABC affiliate, reported in advance that the Hilton located in Woodcliff Lake, approximately a 36-minute drive north of Newark, was scheduled to shut down on February 26, 2024.

According to the outlet, the hotel just couldn’t financially recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, which shook the world five years ago.

The temporary business shutdowns from the years-long pandemic left a lot of businesses, especially smaller firms, financially struggling.

State Senator Holly Schepisi told WABC at the time, “It just became impossible from a financial perspective to be an ongoing concern.”

“No one expected this abrupt closure,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah, about a 17-minute drive northwest of Woodcliff Lake, shuttered in December 2023.
