Their podcast reunion hints at healing after years of distance and drama.
Exploring the latest news from Nickelodeon, we have Josh Peck shedding light on the reason behind inviting producer Dan Schneider to his 2017 wedding while omitting his Drake & Josh co-star, Drake Bell, from the guest list.
The revelation certainly sparks curiosity. During a recent episode of his Good Guys podcast on March 27, 2025, Josh engaged in a candid conversation with Drake, leading to a buzz-worthy two-part reunion that’s capturing everyone’s attention.
The 38-year-old actor didn’t hold back, clarifying that Schneider got an invitation simply because
“my mom was friends with his wife.”
Josh’s decision was simple and personal, without any complex motivations. On the other hand, Drake, known for playing his on-screen stepbrother in the sitcom that aired from 2004 to 2007, was noticeably absent from the guest list, prompting nostalgia and intrigue.
Josh, who married Paige O’Brien in an intimate ceremony in Malibu, shared that at the age of 30, he was in a different mindset.
“I just wanted to leave it all behind because it felt like it didn’t serve me anymore,”
he explained to Drake during the podcast. In other words, he was ready to move on from the Nickelodeon era—although, evidently, not from Schneider.
Back in 2017, Drake Bell didn’t hold back his feelings about not being invited, posting some now-deleted tweets like,
“When you’re not invited to the wedding, the message is clear.”
Ouch. Fast forward to now, and Josh reassures that it wasn’t meant as a personal slight.
“It’s not an indictment of one particular person,”
he added, mentioning that now at 38, he’d definitely reconsider that guest list—Drake and iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove would definitely make the cut.
Their conversation was candid, touching on their complicated history and the fallout from Quiet on Set, the 2024 docuseries where Drake disclosed abuse by dialogue coach Brian Peck (who is not related to Josh). It’s a messy but relatable tale of friendship, fame, and growing up in the limelight.
