Various Hollywood celebrities have offered their opinions about one the of the hottest topics of the last few weeks, the controversial and televised trial involving Johnny Depp and his former wife Amber Heard.
Since their divorce, many celebrities have picked sides in this dispute. However, there is a particular person who was expected to support Heard but actually decided to stand by Depp.
Jason Momoa: The actor who supports Depp
Depp decided to take Heard to court, accusing his ex-wife of defamation, first in the UK, where he lost a trial, and now in the USA in Virginia.
Several well-known individuals have attended the trial to answer questions from the two parties’ lawyers.
The latest to take Depp‘s side, although in a much more subtle way, is Jason Momoa, who worked with Heard on a few occasions, such as in the ‘Aquaman’ movie.
There were rumours that suggested that Momoa would back Amber, but fans of Depp point out that Momoa has just started following the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star on Instagram, only doing so after the Depp vs Heard legal battle had commenced.
In their view, this is a clear sign of Momoa‘s support of the 58-year-old actor.
Other famous celebrities who have backed Depp include Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Sia, JK Rowling and Paul Bettany.
Petition to remove Amber Heard from ‘Aquaman 2’
Meanwhile, a petition has been launched to try to remove Heard from appearing in ‘Aquaman 2’, after she played the role of Mera in the original movie that was released in 2018.
“Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women,” reads the petition’s description.
“This must be recognised, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.
“Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from ‘Aquaman 2’.”
