THIS homeowner decided to cut half of their neighbour’s cherry tree after it dropped cherries into their yard.
The move by Jake Fletcher has divided viewers on TikTok, even as he said it was their “legal right” to do so.
He posted: “The neighbour’s dang cherry tree overhanging our property is so annoying… time to trim some branches.”
Jake took a large saw and ladder and got to work on the “annoying” cherry tree and chopped down branches.
He continued: “Wish they’d cut this property line offending tree down completely.”
After completion, the poor cherry tree had half of its branches missing – which divided many viewers.

One commented: “You’re the neighbour that people make videos about. I’m glad I don’t live next to you.”
Another said: “What a rotten thing to do.”
One woman chimed in: “So you made a pretty tree into an eyesore? Good job.”
A supportive follower suggested: “First of all, they had every right to do this! Second of all, even though that tree is beautiful, it is poisonous to their animals!”

Another homeowner was branded “out of order” after cutting down his neighbour’s tree that was blocking his drive.
The TikTok user known as @smargarden1982 took to the social media platform to film himself cutting back the foliage so it wasn’t overhanging onto his driveway.
In a post called “What would you do if neighbour’s tree was blocking your driveway” the man can be seen getting to grips with the problem.
Dressed in a t-shirt and shorts with a baseball cap on his head, he produces a hedge trimmer and starts cutting back the branches of the tree that are overhanging his drive.
The clip which is less than a minute long is wordless but set to the tune of 1988’s dance track Good Life by Inner City.
He’s careful though to only cut the foliage overhanging his property and leaves the rest of the tree on his neighbour’s side alone.
Most commentators saw no problem with what he was doing and noted it was perfectly legal to do so.
One person wrote: “Absolutely legal to cut back what overhangs your boundary.”
A second suggested: “I’d probably speak to my neighbour and ask to cut it back. I’d also offer to do their side.”
